The Archdiocese of New Orleans is encouraging Catholics to consider choosing other coronavirus vaccines over the shot manufactured by Johnson and Johnson.
The church issued a statement over the weekend calling the Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine "morally corrupt' due to the use of cells derived from abortions.
They added that the Pfizer and Moderna shots are acceptable for Catholics as their connection to abortion is distant.
Despite this, state health officials have urged Louisianans to get a shot as soon as one is available, regardless of manufacturer.
