Edwards Signals La. Moving Away From Fossil Fuels Towards Renewable Energy

Governor Edwards is signaling that new changes from Washington D.C. mean Louisiana should shift away from oil and gas drilling.

Edwards spoke yesterday about the Biden administration's shut down on oil and gas lease sales in the Gulf of Mexico.

Edwards said Louisiana is already working on adapting its refining industry from oil to diesel made from corn, soybeans, and pine trees.

Officials say even without Biden's restrictions on gas and oil, the move to new energy sources is needed as auto companies begin to produce more electric vehicles.
