The family friend of a woman alleging sexual harassment says he was trying to help when he asked for hush money from LSU.
Documents released yesterday show Cleavon Williams allegedly demanded $100,000 from LSU to stay quiet about knowledge of potential sexual misconduct by former football player Derrius Guice.
Williams claims he was working on behalf of the victim when he asked for the money after 74-year-old Gloria Scott accused Guice of sexual harassment in December 2017.
LSU declined to make the payment with associate AD Miriam Segar calling it blackmail.
