Louisiana Lawmaker Looking At Extending Daylight Saving Time Year-Round

A Louisiana lawmaker is working on a proposal that would keep Daylight Saving Time year-round in the state.

East Baton Rouge Councilman Rowdy Gaudet confirmed over the weekend that he will ask the Metro Council next week to adopt his resolution urging the state's congressional delegation to move towards ending Daylight Saving Time.

Louisiana is among 15 other states that have passed Sunshine Protection resolutions asking to make DST permanent.

Any change would ultimately need approval from the U.S. Congress, which would have to change the Uniform Time Act of 1966.
