Vigil Held Sunday For Missing LSU Student Kori Gauthier

Members of the community are showing their support for the family of a missing LSU student.

At a vigil held last night, hundreds gathered to say prayers for 19-year-old Kori Gauthier.

Among those in attendance were East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome, LSU Interim President Tom Galligan, Opelousas Mayor Julius Alsandor, and Bishop Michael Duca.

A spokesperson with LSU says law enforcement does not suspect foul play in Gauthier's disappearance.

Gauthier's abandoned car was found last Wednesday after it was hit by another vehicle on I-10 East on the Mississippi River Bridge.

Search crews and the United Cajun Navy have been combing the levee near where Gauthier's car was discovered, but high water has hindered efforts.
