U.S. Senator John Kennedy is calling for a congressional hearing into the capsizing of the SEACOR Power lift vessel last month.
On Thursday, Kennedy officially asked Congress to investigate the accident, calling it the worst disaster in the Gulf since the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
Kennedy added that the families of the crew members are still waiting for clarity.
The SEACOR Power capsized and ran aground on April 13 in rough seas, killing six crewmen with seven others presumed dead.
