Officials say a life jacket helped save a kayaker who capsized this week in the Irish Bayou.
The Coast Guard confirmed yesterday they rescued a man on Tuesday after a train operator traveling next to Irish Bayou reported a person struggling in the water near the capsized kayak.
The man was pulled from the water uninjured.
The Coast Guard commented on the rescue urging boaters to wear life vests and stay near their kayaks to increase their visibility from the shore.
