Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise is getting his coronavirus shot.
The Metairie Republican told NOLA.com he received the inoculation on Sunday in Jefferson Parish and added it was a good time to get the vaccine, citing rising cases in the state and the Delta variant.
He promises his decision to delay had to do with a previous bout with the virus and not because of politics.
Scalise doesn't want people to be shamed into getting the vaccine but calls it safe and effective.
