COVID Hospitalizations Continue Rise Across Louisiana

The Louisiana Department of Health reported Wednesday 1,524 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment statewide, an increase of 134 from the previous day.

Of those patients, 144 are on ventilators, up 22 from Tuesday.

Christina Stephens, deputy chief of staff in the Governor's office, tweeted the last time Louisiana had that many hospitalized due to COVID-19 was at the end of January.

Stephens added the majority of those being treated and new cases are coming from those who are unvaccinated.

LDH also reported 4,699 new COVID-19 cases and 14 additional deaths.
