The Chief Medical Officer at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge is issuing a dire warning about a new strain of the COVID-19 virus.
Dr. Catherine O'Neal said yesterday that Louisiana could be heading toward becoming like New York City was in March 2020, when it was a global epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. O'Neal said the spread of the virus is exponential because of the new Delta variant.
Our Lady of the Lake has more COVID-19 patients than any other hospital in the state, with over 99% of them unvaccinated.
