The Louisiana Department of Health reported 11,109 new COVID-19 cases Monday.
State health officials also reported 27 additional deaths, pushing the total to 11,026 since the pandemic began.
There are currently 1,984 being treated for COVID-19 in state hospitals. Of those, 213 are on ventilators. Over 90% of current hospitalizations are of those not fully vaccinated.
Gov. John Bel Edwards is scheduled to speak this afternoon on Louisiana's fight against the latest surge fueled by COVID's delta variant, including the possibility of reinstating a mask mandate.
