New Orleans Police Chief Shaun Ferguson is promising crime is down in the city, despite a weekend of violence.
Ferguson told reporters this afternoon there have been two straight months of declining murders.
There were also fewer crimes reported last week compared to the week before.
erguson called last weekend's violence, which included two deaths, a black eye which puts a damper on the work being done by police.
He promised officers would do all they can to keep crime low.
