Two Louisiana House Democrats are being stripped of their chairmanships for voting against repealing a veto by Gov. John Bel Edwards.
Chad Brown of Plaquemine was removed as chair of the House Insurance Committee, and Vincent Pierre of Lafayette was demoted from the House Committee on Transportation on Monday.
Sources say the removals are in retaliation for Brown and Pierre voting against a repeal of Edwards' veto on a bill that would have banned transgender persons from participating in women's sports.
Independent Daryl Adams was also taken off the House Appropriations Committee, and Democrat Travis Johnson was removed from Transportation.
