The Louisiana Department of Health reported 2,895 patients being treated for COVID-19 in state hospitals as of Wednesday, as a fourth surge of the coronavirus fueled by the delta variant continued.
Of those patients, 373 are on ventilators.
The majority of hospitalizations involve those not full vaccinated against the coronavirus.
LDH also reported 5,408 new COVID-19 cases and 55 additional deaths.
