A former LSU assistant football coach is filing a lawsuit against the University over his firing last June.
On Thursday, officials confirmed that former offensive line coach James Cregg has filed a breach of contract suit, saying the school fired him for violating rules that the NCAA never issued a ruling about.
Cregg says he was fired for admitting to giving gear to a prospect during the COVID-19 recruiting dead period, but the NCAA never ruled that he had committed a violation.
Cregg's lawyers say he was fired without cause, so LSU must pay him his remaining base salary.
