The Louisiana Department of Health said a child under the age of 1 was among the 110 COVID-19 deaths reported Wednesday.
"In total, 11 children younger than 18 have died from COVID in Louisiana," LDH tweeted.
The death toll from the coronavirus rose to 12,226.
State health officials also reported 2,844 hospitalizations and 472 patients on ventilators, down slightly overnight.
6,619 new COVID-19 cases were also reported.
