Hurricane Ida debris collection is now started in St. Charles Parish.

Parish officials say the trucks started rolling on Sunday, clearing away the mountains of debris alongside most of the roads in the parish.

Residents are asked to put their debris at curbside in such a way that it doesn't block the road or any drains, ditches or culverts.

Also, don't stack it near fire hydrants, gas or water meters, or AT&T boxes.

The debris must be separated into household garbage, construction debris, yard trash, household hazardous waste, appliances, and electronics.

The debris trucks will make several passes through the parish..
