A suspect is in custody after a woman was found dead inside a Metairie apartment on Monday afternoon.
Jefferson Parish deputies conducting a welfare check at the apartment on North Upland Street found the woman's body, which had suffered several injuries.
The sheriff's office is investigating the woman's death as a homicide, but so far hasn't released details about the victim, the nature of her injuries, or the suspect.
The woman's name is being withheld pending the notification of her family.
