Officials are identifying a woman who was found dead inside a Metairie apartment on Monday afternoon and the man suspected of killing her.
Jefferson Parish deputies conducting a welfare check at the apartment on North Upland Street found the body of 56-year-old Janell Ferrara. She had been shot to death.
Also on Monday, the Mississippi Highway Patrol arrested 62-year-old John Pearson, identified as Ferrara's boyfriend.
Pearson reportedly admitted he had shot and killed Ferrara, and then fled to Mississippi.
He's jailed in Pike County.
