The Krewe of Boo is returning to New Orleans in October.

Mayor LaToya Cantrell issued a statement on Wednesday announcing the news, and calling it a step towards the return of Mardi Gras in the spring.

The Krewe of Boo is requiring all participants, including riders and members of marching groups, to be vaccinated, or show proof of a negative coronavirus test, in order to join the parade.

The parade is for October 23 and would be the first in New Orleans since the pandemic shutdowns started last year.
