The third phase of registration for the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistane Program, or DSNAP, starts today for Louisiana families affected by Hurricane Ida.
Residents whose last names start with A through F in Lafourche, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist and Terrebonne parishes can register by calling 1-888-524-3578 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
According to the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services, applicants must select the following menu options:
- 1st Option - Select Language
- 2nd Option - Press 6
- 3rd Option - Press 1
When residents call to apply and be interviewed for DSNAP, a worker will:
- Verify the applicant’s identity and residency
- Obtain information about income, resources and disaster-related expenses
Officials say there have been long waits over the past few weeks caused by people trying to call in on the wrong day.
