Louisiana is joining the "Race to Zero" campaign of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

The campaign is an international effort involving thousands of governments, universities, and businesses in a commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

In a related but separate move, Gov. John Bel Edwards signed an executive order last year that commits Louisiana to cut greenhouse gas emissions to net-zero by 2050.
