LSU Health Expert: Unvaccinated Shouldn't Relax Though Virus Cases Are Down

A local infectious disease expert says unvaccinated people shouldn't become complacent even though the number of coronavirus cases is falling.

Dr. Julio Figueroa, chief of infectious diseases at LSU Health, warns that the latest wave of the virus seems to be passing but another one could happen.

He also says health officials are concerned about the possibility of a "twindemic" as flu season approaches.

The CDC says Louisiana's fully vaccinated rate for coronavirus is 45.5%.
