Republican Whip Steve Scalise is calling on President Joe Biden to prevent changes to the National Flood Insurance Program.
Scalise was in Louisiana on Friday to meet with leaders of Jefferson, St. Tammany, Plaquemines, and Lafourche parishes.
FEMA's new pricing methodology for the flood insurance program is called Risk Rating 2.0.
Scalise says it will drive flood insurance premiums up so high, many Louisiana property owners won't be able to afford them and will drop their coverage.
