City officials are naming their choice of developer for the Six Flags/Jazzland site in New Orleans East.
Bayou Phoenix is the city's official choice as of Monday.
The group of mostly local developers plans to build an amusement park, water park, hotel, and sports complex, along with a STEM center, a logistics hub, and a travel center.
The other candidate was Shield 1, a foundation created by Drew Brees and a couple of current NFL players.
Shield 1 withdrew their proposal and will seek another site for their project.
