The Louisiana Workforce Commission says more than 31,000 are available across the state as the labor shortage continues.

LWC held an online job fair on Wednesday.

Sunae Villavaso, director of the Mayor's Office of Workforce Development in New Orleans, says there are more than 1,600 jobs to fill in the city, with available positions in health care, IT, manufacturing, and the hospitality industry.

Villavaso says the pandemic has more people working from home or holding out for higher wages.
