New Orleans City Councilman Jared Brossett is suspending his campaign just a little more than a week ahead of the election to deal with personal issues.
The move comes after the embattled councilman's second DWI arrest in less than two years.
In a statement released Thursday, Brossett said he was entering a treatment facility to get help for addiction.
Despite suspending his run for the Division 2 At Large seat, Brossett says he will complete his term as District D's councilman.
