The City of New Orleans is still debating on whether or not Mardi Gras 2022 will happen.
This week, city officials noted that they are making moves to have Carnival return next year, but there is still a lot to consider.
Labor shortages would force parade officials to reconfigure routes throughout the city.
The city's communications director noted in a statement that unless there is a dramatic turn for the worse in terms of COVID-19 numbers, New Orleans is on track, as of right now, to bring back Mardi Gras.
