A city spokesperson says New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell will end the city's mask mandate on Friday.

The mayor's action follows orders from Gov. John Bel Edwards that ended the statewide mask requirement on Wednesday.

Mask mandates will remain in place for the city's K-12 public schools.

Mask requirements for Saints and Pelicans games will also end on Friday, but proof of vaccination or negative tests are still required for fans to enter.
