Suspect Pleads Not Guilty In Shootings Of Louisiana State Trooper, Woman

The suspect in the fatal shootings of a state trooper and a woman last month is pleading not guilty.

Investigators say Matthew Mire ambushed Master Trooper Adam Gaubert as he sat in his patrol car in Prairieville.

Mire then reportedly shot two people at a nearby house, including a woman who died

An Ascension Parish jury indicted Mire on two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder last month, along with other charges.

If convicted, Mire could face the death penalty.
