Results are in for Saturday's primary election in New Orleans.

Mayor LaToya Cantrell easily won a second term, winning 65% of the low voter turnout.

Orleans Parish Sheriff Marlin Gusman failed to reach 50% of the vote, so he's in a runoff against former Independent Police Monitor Susan Hutson.

The runoff election is on December 11. Gusman is running for a fifth term.

Incumbent city council member Kristin Gisleson Palmer lost her seat to challenger and former state senator J.P. Morrell.
