A hearing and a possible trial are scheduled to decide the constitutionality of a Slidell casino vote less than three weeks from now.

The election is set for December 11 for the proposed $325 million Camellia Bay casino, which has become a political hot potato.

Opponents of the casino raised a constitutional challenge to the vote, which is still on the ballot.

Judge John Keller of Covington has scheduled a hearing on the issue for November 30.
