Tulane University leaders are reporting that a student living off-campus has tested positive for the omicron variant.
The student was tested last week, and the positive result came back over the weekend.
The student has been isolated ever since testing positive, and all close contacts have been alerted.
Tulane officials say this development doesn't change the mask-optional status in effect on most of the campus.
