A Covington High School student accused of attacking a teacher is pleading not guilty by reason of insanity.

Prosecutors say 18-year-old Larrianna Jackson threw the 64-year-old wheelchair-bound teacher to the ground for a TikTok challenge in early October. The teacher spent a couple of days in the hospital.

Jackson was arrested on a charge of battery of a school teacher. She pleaded insanity in a St. Tammany Parish court on Wednesday.

Police arrested another 18-year-old and a juvenile for unlawfully posting a criminal activity.
