The Louisiana Department of Health is reporting 13 more probable cases of the omicron coronavirus variant.
The probable cases involve nine patients in the New Orleans area, two in the Baton Rouge area, and two in the northwestern part of the state.
One case involves an person in Acadiana who had traveled internationally and didn't need to be hospitalized.
The new cases bring the total number of omicron cases in Louisiana to 17, with one confirmed and 16 probable
The first confirmed case in the state was identified last Friday.
