The upcoming election over whether to build a $325 million casino in St. Tammany Parish is generating a lot of campaign spending.
The campaign ads are taking the form of TV spots, flyers in the mail, and billboards everywhere in the parish.
In all, supporters and opponents of the casino have spent more than $5 million on campaign media.
That amount compares to the most recent St. Tammany Parish President's race, in which the three candidates spent a combined $831,000.
