A helicopter crash shut down parts of I-10 and I-55 Tuesday afternoon.
Louisiana State Police say the Bell 407 helicopter went down this afternoon on eastbound I-10 at the Bonne Carre Spillway Bridge west of New Orleans. Parts of the wreckage slid into Lake Pontchartrain.
The FAA and NTSB are taking the lead in the investigation. The FAA says only the pilot was aboard at the time of the crash.
