New Orleans is moving ahead with a plan to rename Robert E. Lee Boulevard, as the city planning commission agreed to the change.
The city council decided to remove the Confederate general's statue from what was then Lee Circle in 2017.
The boulevard will be renamed in honor of Allen Toussaint, a New Orleans musician, songwriter, and record producer, who died in 2015.
