Landry Sues Edwards Over Vaccine Requirement

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry is suing Gov. John Bel Edwards for adding coronavirus vaccines to the state's school immunization schedule.

On Tuesday, Edwards rejected the decision by the House Committee on Health and Welfare not to require vaccinations for Louisiana students age 16 and up.

Landry and state Rep. Raymond Crews sued on Wednesday, claiming Edwards is violating the separation of powers clause of the Louisiana Constitution.

Landry says the governor's action reduces the Legislature to a "speed bump."
