A New Orleans man is under arrest and accused of carjacking a man at a gas station in Slidell on Thursday afternoon.
Officers responded about 4 p.m. to the reported carjacking at a Shell station on Old Spanish Road. The victim told police he was about to gas up when the suspect pulled a gun and took his car.
The suspect, identified as Arsenio Wells, took off on I-10 but soon had to stop and buy gas.
Officers caught up with Wells at a gas station in New Orleans.
He sped away, crashed the car, and ran on foot before police closed in and arrested him.
