Tulane University is postponing the start of its spring semester because of concerns about the omicron variant.
University officials say the delay is to make sure proper precautions are in place when students return to campus.
The semester's start date is being pushed back from January 18 to January 25.
The extra week is also intended to give students time to get their booster shots.
Tulane faculty, staff, and students are required to get a booster shot after they're eligible for one.
