Two New Orleans schools will close at the end of the school year.

NOLA Public Schools announced on Tuesday the upcoming closures of Oscar Dunn in New Orleans East and Live Oak School in the Irish Channel.

District officials said the schools don't have enough students to make it practical to keep them open.

They say the situation is the result of lower birth rates and citywide population declines in recent years.
