Coronavirus reinfections are making a major jump in Louisiana.

Gov. John Bel Edwards told reporters today the Omicron variant is to blame for the over 500 reinfections which started last month.

Edwards says almost 100% of current cases in Louisiana are from COVID Omicron, showing how contagious the virus is.

He thinks almost everyone in the state has contacted the virus at some point and recovered.
