Three Catholic schools in New Orleans will be shut down at the end of this school year.

The Archdiocese of New Orleans announced on Friday the upcoming closures of St. Rita in New Orleans, St. Rosalie in Harvey, and St. Mary Magdalen in Metairie.

Officials with the archdiocese say each school has fewer than 200 students enrolled, which isn't enough to keep them open and ensure their financial stability.

The shutdowns will affect 544 students and 68 faculty members.
