Gov. John Bel Edwards is outlining his budget priorities, including more money for teachers and bridges.
Edwards told reporters Monday that teachers deserve a $1500 raise while also saying more cash needs to be spent on education.
The governor is also hoping to build more bridges in Baton Rouge and Lake Charles and rebuild rural state bridges.
He believes using one-time expenses in the budget will help prevent future budget deficits.
