The Orleans Parish District Attorney insists his office is performing well against the recent wave of violent crime.

Jason Williams says his office has accepted 95% of murder cases brought to it by the New Orleans police.

He says the NOPD needs to come up with an effective anti-crime strategy.

Last week Mayor LaToya Cantrell's office said the D.A.'s office had refused charges in 23 murder cases, and has accepted fewer than half of the robbery and carjacking cases brought to them.

Williams says those figures aren't accurate.
