Officials are identifying a man found shot to death last week in the Lower 9th Ward as the cousin of an NFL player.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's office on Tuesday said 27-year-old Renard Fournette was the man found dead in a car last Friday near a church on Alabo Street.
The victim is a cousin of Leonard Fournette, a running back for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Leonard Fournette is a former LSU star who attended St. Augustine High School.
No word yet from the New Orleans police about a suspect or motive.
