State and local officials are responding to the retirement of Sean Payton as head coach of the New Orleans Saints.
Mayor LaToya Cantrell, City Council President Helena Moreno, and Council Vice President J.P. Morrell all thanked Payton for his service to the team and the city, and especially thanked him for the city's first Super Bowl win.
Governor John Bel Edwards pointed out that even though the Saints weren't in the playoffs this year, Payton still led them to a winning season.
All the officials wished Payton well in his retirement.
