Reliable utility service is finally reestablished in Grand Isle, more than five months after Hurricane Ida made landfall as a category 4 storm.

Local residents and businesses have been struggling without consistent running water, electricity, and gas.

People are welcoming the restoration of utilities as a sign of progress while they continue to rebuild, and businesses on Grand Isle are reopening.
