Louisiana Republicans and Democrats are disagreeing on whether Governor John Bel Edwards should be investigated over a black man's in-custody death.

Republican House Speaker Clay Schexnader says it's important to find out what Edwards knew about Ronald Greene's death and when.

Democrat state Sen. Katrina Jackson says it looks like Edwards did the right thing but promised to criticize him if the story changes. She also told WAFB she didn't want people to play politics with Greene's death.

Greene was killed during a struggle with Louisiana State Police in 2019 after a chase in Union Parish.
